BIOGRAPHY

Thanks to my imagination, I’ve lived in different worlds. When I was a boy, an ordinary pen would take off from the table like a rocket, or a shoe on the floor would glide like a ship on the high seas. So, from my room, I would take off to explore the cosmos or find myself at the helm of a schooner in far-off waters. These voyages poured onto paper in my drawings. There, living beings and objects cohabitated.
Even today, parallel universes reveal themselves, side-by-side with what we consider the ordinary world. Just like when I was a boy, those visions end up in my work. Perhaps that is why, despite all the years that have passed, I’m haven’t really grown up.
Perhaps more important than my degrees in film studies and filmmaking, my experiences working have taught me the most. While I was a high school and university student in, I worked as an art director in advertising and a storyboard artist for animated and live action films.
Hands-on experience has been my greatest teacher, especially when I decided to move to Florence. Here I opened a small shop with my wife. We wanted people to walk into our shop and experience the same feeling as walking into an enchanted attic. I built and painted the moveable set pieces and decoration to create the unique atmosphere. I created original articles to put on our shelves. Coming up with ideas, producing and then selling your own creations is a great training ground for both your imagination and your humility. After inventing a brand and obtaining wonderful results, I felt the need to go back to my roots, to where it all began. So here I am, in front of a canvas again, among paints and paintbrushes, ready to paint another story of my life.
